“More than anything, I like to paint, but my brush is a needle,” says our today's heroine, creator of colorful embroidered miniature landscapes.
About the page author
Vera Shimbereva, using threads of different colors and textures, hoops, fabric and a needle, creates embroidered landscapes resembling miniatures made in oil in an expressionist manner. "More than anything else, I like to draw, but my brush is a needle," she says. "I draw with thread what I feel. The way I feel."

What is this page about
Faith's Instagram page is dedicated to her unusual embroidery. Today, the ancient craftsmanship of decorating fabrics with patterns using threads and needles is undergoing a new birth: masters and craftswomen embroider portraits, still lifes, illustrations, make botanical or architectural sketches, and so on. In short, there is now much more in common between fine art and embroidery art than ever. The manner of Faith's work is another proof of this and a wonderful example of how embroidered work can be picturesque and naturalistic. Flaming colors of sunset sky, blooming fields, mountains with clouds lying on their tops are not only bright, but also voluminous, which makes them even more expressive - and this effect is achieved thanks to expertly laid stitches, really resembling brush strokes.
