As a rule, the ends of an elastic tape, which, for example, is sewn into the waistband of a skirt, are ground by overlaying one on the other, combining slices, or by placing the ends with an overlap.

Both of these methods, of course, double the thickness of your tape at the place of application, which may not be so noticeable when sewing the tape into a belt, but nonetheless. There is a more accurate method that will allow you to reliably stitch the ends of the elastic tape, while avoiding any thickening.

To do this, you will need a piece of organza or any other very light and thin, but strong fabric. Lay the ends of the tape over a piece of organza, butt-to-end aligning the slices.

If necessary, trim the excess organza. Done!
