Another recycling option for old jeans: a bulk shopping bag.
For such a bag, jeans with wide legs are suitable: wide straight women or large men. To understand how wide the bag will come out of the jeans, put two legs next to it: this will be the approximate size of the bag horizontally. In the machine it is better to put a needle for denim. It is also ideal to choose the threads that match the ones your jeans are sewn on, as we will keep the factory step seam.

A bag of old jeans in 20 minutes: a master class
Step 1
Wash jeans, dry, turn inside out and iron the legs. Cut off the legs.
Spread the side seams of the legs.
If, as in our case, the jeans are frayed from the bottom, cut off the frayed parts. Once again, iron the two resulting panels.
Step 2
From the two resulting panels with saved step seams, you need to carve out two identical parts of the bag. Usually the front leg of the jeans is already the back. If you have enough width, you can trim the halves by cutting off the excess so that the step seam goes exactly in the middle of the bag. If you want to make the bag wider, you can leave everything as it is: the seam will go a little sideways, but this will not interfere with operation. I chose the second option. Firstly, the bag will turn out more voluminous. Secondly, the scuffs of jeans along the seams will remain.
Fold one of the panels in half, face inward, and draw a small outline of the future handles of the bag (take into account allowances of 1-1.5 cm).
Cut out the pens, fold the second cloth in half and cut out the pens on it, using the first as a template.
So, we got two identical parts of the bag. Moreover, the lateral edges of the parts in our case have already been processed: the finished overlock processing has been preserved. If you aligned these edges, do not forget to process them after completing the side seams.
Step 3
Perform the side seams of the bag. Fold the parts with the sides inward and pin them together.
Lay the stitch along the line of the open seam. At the beginning and end, make tacking.
Iron the seams, then iron. If necessary, process the allowances (in our case, the factory processing is preserved).
Step 4
Now do the bottom seam. Turn the bag on the front side. Align and lower the bottom edges with pins.
Sew a stitch leaving a 0.7 cm allowance.
Iron seams and cut allowances to 0.4 cm.
Turn the bag inside out, straighten the allowances and iron.
Lay a line along the previous one, departing from the edge of 0.6 cm.
To keep the bag flat, stitch the corners. Fold the bag, aligning the side and bottom seams, secure with a pin.
Measure 7 cm and put a mark.
At the mark level, draw a line perpendicular to the seam.
Repeat with the second corner. It will be necessary to lay the lines along the drawn lines: make sure that the allowance for the lower seam does not twist.
Sew lines along the lines. At the beginning and end, make tacking.
Press the corners to the center of the bag.
Sew the corners to the bottom seam allowance manually.
Step 5
Fold the handles in pairs, face inward, and pin together.
Draw lines at a distance of 1.5 cm from the edge.
Line the lines. At the beginning and end of each - tack.
One of the allowances is cut to 0.5-0.6 cm.
Tighten the longer allowance so that it covers the short allowance and iron it.
Then iron both allowances to close the raw edge.
Stitch in the edge.
Step 6
It remains to process the open sections of the handles. Turn the edges twice inward by 0.5-0.6 cm and iron.Since we have a narrow doorway, it is better to fix the stitches with volumetric seams before laying the stitch manually with a few stitches.
Stitch the doorways to the edge. Done.
