About the page author
The heroine of our column is Emily Clark. Here's what she says: “In the summer of 2015, I came to the realization that I needed to simplify many things in my life and in my closet. The desire to live easier took hold of my heart, and I decided to start from the wardrobe. That summer I got rid of more than from half of my clothes: things that no longer fit my style or went out of fashion, some I didn’t wear at all, some just were of poor quality ... This experience made me strive for things that are classic, timeless, durable.
In the same year, I began to sew under the guidance of my grandmother. My skills improved, my style developed with them. Inspired by nature, I wanted to create things that combine naturalness and simplicity. "

What is this page about
Emily creates, indeed, simple and natural things: comfortable fit, natural fabrics, natural colors. “For me, fabric is not just something that we put on the body for warmth or to cover itself,” she says. “The fabric contains memory, and it creates beauty in simple ways. Memories of how you have a linen apron in flour made from which you bake a cake for your grandmother's 74th birthday. There are wonderful moments when the midday sun peeks out the window, casting strange shadows on the dining table covered with a tablecloth. "I want handmade items to be part of these sweet moments and memories, to keep these memories and to remind me of the good when I use or put them on."
