Pink for girls, blue for boys - has it always been like this and why in the 50s they began to perceive pink color in a new way?

Moreover, pink color was conventionally fixed for girls, and blue color - for boys only by the twentieth century, and this, you see, is not such a distant past.

For example, for a long time, blue was popular in children's clothes for girls, because Virgin Mary was often depicted in blue clothes, and pink, on the contrary, was used in boys' clothes, as it was perceived as a shade of red, symbolizing masculinity and militancy.

Today, historians and culturologists do not have a single version of what exactly caused the opposition of pink and blue, but there are a number of assumptions. For example, it is believed that by the beginning of the twentieth century a marketing strategy had taken shape to encourage parents to buy more children’s clothing, but in 1953 one political event had an extraordinary impact on the popularity of pink!
