Refreshing your wardrobe without spending almost anything is very easy. Decorate a fringed dress, ballet shoes or make a new necklace from old chains.
False pocket
It seems that this is a real pocket, but when moving it will more resemble the original brooch. You will need
Braid with a fringe 9 cm wide, 25 cm long; jersey flap; 7 blocks with washers (can be replaced with sewn buttons); threads for sewing. How to do
From a jersey, cut a strip 25 cm long, 4 cm wide. Stitch a strip on the top edge of the fringe (seam width 1 cm) face to face. Wrap a strip around the upper edge of the fringe on the wrong side, tuck and sew.Mark the middle on the strip. In the middle and at a distance of 3 cm to the left and right, break through the blocks or sew buttons.
Place the motive on the dress and pin it in the area of the blocks. Wrap the ends of the strip diagonally down and chop each other diagonally (the upper sides of the strip lie on top of each other) - you should get a corner. Combine the edges of the seams, sew manually.
At a distance of 1 cm and 4 cm from the seam, break through the remaining blocks (sew on buttons). Sew the upper part of the strip to a length of 4 cm from the middle to the left and to the right. Do not sew the bottom.
Ballet shoes
Instead of a bow or buckle, a "male beard" appeared on these shoes. You will need
Ballet shoes, braid with a fringe 6 cm wide, 20 cm long; jersey flap; 8 hollow blots, sewing threads. How to do
From the jersey, cut 2 strips 12 cm long and 3 cm wide. Cut the braid with fringe into 2 identical parts. Stitch the strips of the jersey to the fringe face to face along the upper edge (seam width 1 cm). Wrap a strip around the upper edge of the fringe, wrap inward and sew on. Tuck the ends.Lay the stripes on the shoes and sew with a few stitches. At equal intervals break through 4 blocks. Cut the fringe to a length convenient for walking.
Necklace
This necklace can be arranged from different old chains. You will need
Aluminum wire 110 cm long, diam. 3 mm; various chains from 15 to 40 cm long; long silver beads for stitching; sewn coins; rings for connecting chains; 3 locks for a necklace; silver jersey size 20 x 80 cm; suitable threads; carpet hook; pliers, nippers; needle; measuring tape; knife cutter; sewing threads; ruler; safety pin.Step 1
From the jersey, cut 20 strips 20 cm long and 9 strips 65 cm long, each 5 mm wide, and one strip 75 cm long, 3 cm wide. To do this, use a knife cutter, ruler and bedding for cutting.Fold a strip 3 cm wide along the front side inwards, stitch at a distance of 7 mm from the fold. Unscrew the strip with a safety pin. From strips 65 cm long, braid 3 pigtails.
Through the last link of the chain approx. 25 cm stretch a strip of jersey.Tie the ends of the strip with knot (a).
Cut the wire into 2 parts 40 and 70 cm long. Bend the ends of the wire with a loop. Connect one fastener to the rings (b + c).
Connect 2 small rings (a - from jersey and chain, b - from wire, c - lock) and a large ring (c - from wire and lock with jersey). To sew beads.
Step 2
Put the rings in each other. Bind the rings to the aluminum ring (b). On the chain (a) string and pass the beads with a carpet hook.Step 3
Tie a knotted striped jersey. Secure the chains with pliers and connecting rings on the upper ring. Then attach the ring with coins.Photo: Jan Schmidel (7); catwalkpix.com (2); idea and embodiment: Diane Shroll.
