We cut off the greasy corners, tear off the frayed covers and turn old unnecessary books into decorative vases of various shapes that will decorate your library.

YOU WILL NEED: An old book without a cover with a stitched or glued spine of at least 150 pages, a pencil, paper scissors, a cutter, small paper clips, glue, a sheet of paper cardboard the size of a book. Reshoot the liked vase silhouette on tracing paper (see sketches in the photo).
STEP 1 Lay the book on the cardboard, aligning the left and top edges. Draw pencil lines along the bottom and right edges of the book, identifying its size on the cardboard.
STEP 2 Increase the silhouette of the vase to the size of the book. You can draw a vase of any shape by hand. Please note that the "bottom" of the vase must be at least 2.5 cm. Transfer the silhouette onto the cardboard.
STEP 3 Cut a template out of cardboard, put it on a book, aligning the left cut with the spine, and fix with paper clips. Slide the cutter along the path, cutting through several pages.
STEP 4 Turn the cut out pages to the left, re-attach the template to the book and pass the cutter. Thus cut out all the pages. Lock the left pages with paper clips.
STEP 5 Apply glue to the first and last pages of the book, carefully glue them together and press firmly. Place the vase vertically and spread all the pages evenly
