Last Thursday, November 14, the second lesson of the 1st sewing course took place: "Belt Products". Under the direction of Irina Strong students chose models, learned to take measurements, worked with patterns, learned to correct them. The class is equipped with comfortable workstations, modern sewing machines, overlocks and all necessary sewing accessories. You just have to get the fabric and take a good mood with you.
To tell about what he saw is one impression. And to take part in the process is quite another. That same evening, in one of the classes of the Academy, a teacher Irina Pushkareva held a master class on felting dry Christmas trees.Members of the forum from our site took part in the master class. The process turned out to be so exciting and fascinating that 2.5 hours passed completely unnoticed. Each needlewoman got her own Christmas tree. Someone managed faster, someone felted the Christmas tree longer. Not knowing what felting is, it would never even come to mind that it is a meditative, calming process, as a result of which, for example, a Christmas tree is obtained from a large ball of soft wool with a needle. While you poke a needle into the wool and give the desired shape to the future product, ideas come up in your head about how to decorate the Christmas tree, and what can be done using this technique, and what are other ways of felting. Of course, all these questions were voiced, and Irina answered them with pleasure. Felting technique allows you to make not only toys, but also all kinds of decorations. Wet felting is used to make garments and accessories, for example, collars, necklaces. And felting helps to relieve stress!
