Actress and film director Renata Litvinova, who became the face of the cosmetic brand L'Oréal Paris this year, told how to always remain charming and true to her style.

In the new film, “The Last Tale of Rita,” the unique Renata appeared in several roles at once, including as a costume designer. Agree, this is a great talent: to create new images and to be in the center of attention.

● You are often called a “style icon”. How do you define it yourself? What is it based on?

R.: In my life I am prone to modest, comfortable dresses and suits, I am also a fan of black color and wear a Rado watch - also ascetic and elegant. I believe that nothing should distract from me, things can not be brighter and stronger than the person himself. Once I defined my silhouette: at the institute, due to lack of money, I wore a uniform, a black skirt, a black sweater and low-heeled shoes. In these clothes, I felt the most elegant during the day. For evening events, it was enough to add red lipstick, a string of red or pearl beads. And it was precisely in the period of my "tight sweaters" that I began to think about thinness as an integral part of beauty and began to keep on a diet. Here, in fact, my whole style is thinness, moderation, adequacy and some crazy details. I really love jewelry and watches - there cannot be few of them.

MOST ELEGANCE

Renata Litvinova in each image looks with a special chic and seems to be the embodiment of femininity.

● What, in your opinion, is the difference between the two concepts - style and fashion? Do you yourself prefer to be “stylish” or “fashionably” dressed?

R.: Fashion was invented for those who have no imagination. But she can give an impetus in the search for her individual style.

● Where does your love for vintage come from? Is vintage a synonym for femininity for you?

R.: Old things have a soul, they were still made piece by piece, and not in a stream, when one Chinese seamstress sews a sleeve and the other a collar and pockets, and all this is so formal and disposable, so things quickly wear out and lose their shape. A vintage dress, sewn by a master, sits like a glove, all fabrics are natural. In general, I insist that only silk, wool and cotton should be worn, and synthetics are harmful to health. There are many advantages to vintage things. Then there was manual labor, energy was transmitted through human hands and “revived” the product, and in flowing things everything was crooked and as if done hastily.

SECRET OF BEAUTY
A real woman will always find time to do herself.

● Each of your public appearances is a small performance. Do you think it out in advance as a director?

R.: I’m not Lady Gaga, who really has every appearance - this is an art installation and show output at the same time. Still, the woman is decorated with an elegant outfit. Sometimes I try on couture dresses to go out, so that later I can hand them back to the warehouse - you can only wear these once! I admire Chanel, McQueen, Martin Margiela - I even somehow put on his robe, made from wigs (the hair was artificial)! It is so bold and beautiful at the same time. Of course, I am fascinated by someone else's talent!

● In the movie "The Last Tale of Rita," you are listed as a costume designer. Is this a new field of application of creative forces for you?

R.: I always did costumes. When I write scripts, I come up with characters "from and to" and imagine them: how they move, how old they are, what they are dressed in. And what’s important, cinema is not life, it is my personal dream about life, it’s some of my “suprereality” in which the characters are dressed “as I want,” and even the color of the sky I do as I see it.

Sketches
Working on the script, Renata draws her characters and comes up with costumes.

● The readers of BURDA magazine are women who create their own image, try themselves in the role of stylists. What would you like to wish them along the way?

R.: I would advise you to go away from yourself, to remove all distracting shuttlecocks, frills and other add-ons in the form of bows, huge buttons and stupid rhinestones - nothing should distract from your face, you should not be remembered for your costume. It should frame and advantageously wrap around your figure.

● What are your personal beauty secrets? What needs to be done to always stay young?

R.: First of all, physical activity, sports are needed. Especially after 35 years, you need to monitor both nutrition and weight. For example, I don’t eat meat, I don’t drink hard alcohol. A woman should not drink vodka at all! But I love ice champagne in the heat or a glass of good dry wine.

And, of course, you need to work on yourself forever - to read, to be interested in something more than your family circle and household arrangement.Find your beautician, for several years now I have been going only to my doctor.

In cosmetics, after a long search, comparing price and quality, I chose L'Oréal Paris. I love their red lipsticks, black liner and foundation.

● Why are you using the Revitalift, Complete Recovery 10 line from L'Oréal Paris?

R.: This cream really works: in the morning I apply Bb cream, and before bedtime "Night recovery". I also love whey. After her skin is like mother-of-pearl!

● What other image could we see Renata Litvinova?

R.: With age, all the same, I tend more to modest clothes, and I will splash out better through my films, stories, books, collections, through my gestures towards my beloved people - let them be bright and shout about my love!
