You will need:

  • Clothesline
  • Glue gun
  • Two metal rings
  • Chain
  • Scissors
  • Ribbons and beads (optional)

Step 1

We have already talked about how to make a tote bag out of a rope. In that workshop, the rope was sewn on a typewriter with a zigzag stitch that was wide enough for the thread to capture both ropes:

In the case of a round bag of a similar design, using the machine is technically inconvenient. Such a bag can be sewn by hand, which will take much longer, however, a stitched bag is stronger than glued.

Twist the end of the rope with a "snail", gluing all joints with hot glue.

Step 2

Continue until you get a circle with a diameter of 23–25 cm. At the end, leave 10–11 cm of a non-glued rope.In total, prepare two such rope circles.

Step 3

Now we need to form the walls of the bag. Take one of the circles so that the non-glued portion of the rope remains on the right, slightly higher than in the middle. Directly under it, start gluing a new rope, moving down the diameter of the circle and retreating from the edge of about 1 cm. When you reach the opposite side, fold the rope and move back, gluing it to the first layer.

The more you make such layers, the wider the wall will be and, accordingly, the bag is more spacious and capacious.

Step 4

Glue the finished wall with glue and carefully lay the second circle on top so that the non-glued portion of the rope is on the opposite side.

Step 5

Bend the non-glued rope, forming a loop and glue it. Repeat for the second side.

Step 6

Attach the chain rings to the rope loops.

Step 7

In general, the bag is ready, but if you wish, you can always decorate it, for example, stick or sew ribbons, beads and beads!
