Berlin-based artist Tina Berning has created this delightful handkerchief for us. Those who want to try their hand at silk painting need a steady hand, good colors and a sense of beauty.

YOU WILL LIKE: details of the frame for pulling, reserve in a bottle with a screw-on nozzle or in a tube, paints for silk and thickener, stationery buttons with three cloves for pulling, various brushes for watercolor.
STEP 1

Stretch a silk scarf on the table with a crepe ribbon, draw a motif with a pencil, circle with a reserve. The lines should not be interrupted, because in the future they will be the boundaries between the areas made with different colors.
STEP 2
Pull the scarf over the frame, starting from one corner, then fasten the corner diagonally and around the perimeter. The scarf seems to be hanging in the air without touching the table. Due to this, paints freely spread on the surface of the fabric.

STEP 3
Sequentially paint sections of the picture with a brush. It’s best to take a hair brush for watercolor. Depending on the amount of water, the color of the paint can be made more or less saturated.
STEP 4
If you paint the area with one movement of the brush, then the paint will lie evenly. And if you re-take the paint with a brush, then clouds form on the area, like on the hair, and the blur effect.
STEP 5
For hair and clothing, a colorless reserve was used. Attention: the line is difficult to check. In the missed places, the paint will leak, as in our case. But this can be considered as an element of style.

STEP 6
In relation to areas with clear contours, the watercolor drawing made in a free manner looks contrasting. The result is an impression of a delicate picture. Layers of paint shine through.
STEP 7
As soon as individual sections dry (this takes a couple of minutes), you can put the following accents, otherwise the details will merge with each other. In our case, we are talking about details on red flowers. Draw dots next to them.
STEP 8
Leave the handkerchief to dry completely and iron it through a cotton iron, holding the iron in each area for about two minutes to fix the paint. When finished, wash the handkerchief manually.
